Where We Operate

OUR COMMODITIES

Copper connects. Manganese strengthens.

Makor Resources is focused on two minerals fundamental to global infrastructure, industrial development and technological advancement.Through our portfolio in Zambia, we are advancing opportunities to unlock the potential of these resources and connect them with growing global markets.

OUR COMMODITIES / COPPER

The metal powering a more connected world.

Why does Makor Resources mine copper?

Copper is one of the fundamental building blocks of modern civilisation. From the electricity that powers our homes and industries to the infrastructure supporting digital connectivity, transport and emerging technologies, copper is essential to how the world functions — and how it will evolve.

As economies electrify, expand their power networks and invest in new infrastructure, demand for copper is becoming increasingly important to global industrial development. Yet bringing new copper supply to market requires substantial investment, technical expertise and long development timelines.

For Makor Resources, copper represents an opportunity to participate in this structural demand through the responsible development of Zambia's mineral resources. Our strategy focuses on identifying and advancing mineral opportunities, developing regional processing capacity and connecting resources with the markets that need them.

We see copper not simply as a commodity, but as an essential enabler of progress.

OUR COMMODITIES / MANGANESE

The mineral strengthening the foundations of progress.

Jagged Metallic Rock Ore Chunk_edited.png

Why does Makor Resources mine manganese?

Manganese is one of the world's most important industrial minerals, yet its contribution to modern life often goes unnoticed. As an essential ingredient in steelmaking, manganese helps create the strength, durability and performance required for the infrastructure on which economies depend. From bridges and buildings to railways, machinery and transport networks, manganese is embedded in the foundations of industrial development.

While South Africa holds an estimated 70% of global manganese resources, China accounts for approximately 95% of battery-grade manganese sulphate production. With potential supply constraints emerging in specialised downstream markets, investment in diversified production and processing capacity is becoming increasingly important.

For Makor Resources, manganese represents an opportunity to develop mineral assets within Zambia's established mining economy, strengthen regional mineral value chains and explore opportunities for beneficiation and market access.

We see manganese as a mineral with enduring industrial relevance and the potential to participate in new, higher-value supply chains.
